2014 Bootlegger’ Hill Pinot Noir

Provenance:

TR Elliott 2014 Bootlegger’s Hill Pinot Noir is a single vineyard wine from the famed Bootlegger’s Hill Vineyard, which sits at an elevation of 750 feet atop the Occidental Ridge in the western Reaches of the Russian River Valley. It is here that Goldridge soils, South Western exposure, and hillsides meet to produce grapes of utmost character, elegance, and class.

Color:

The color is a brilliant crimson.

Aromatics:

The lovely aroma of this wine blends cranberry, juicy dark cherry, rose petal, rhubarb, earth, and conifer needles.

Palate:

The mouth is dynamic and lingering with notes of baking spices, bright red fruit, sweet cedar, huge depth, and a seamless and long finish.

Harvest & Winemaking:

We handpicked this vineyard on September 9th 2014. The grapes were hand-sorted, cold-soaked and then fermented (20% whole cluster) using native yeast in a small open-top stainless steel vat. After aging 11 months in French Oak barrels, we hand-selected our six best barrels for our Bootlegger’s Hill.
