2008 Queste

Provenance:

2008 TR Elliott Queste Pinot Noir is a cuvée of 16 barrels of wine. We selected 11 barrels from our Hallberg Vineyard and another 5 from our O’Connell Vineyard. Dijon clones, a long, cool growing season and the Gold Ridge sandy loam soils are typical of both Vineyards.

Color:

The color is a rich and deep cherry red.

Aromatics:

The aroma begins with a potpourri of rose petal, cinnamon and pomegranate, followed by truffle and earthiness.

Palate:

The wine is soft and luscious, yet firm with well-integrated tannins. The feel of velvet surrounds tastes of raspberry and cherry fruit, hazelnut, plum and dark chocolate. This is a classic Russsian River Pinot Noir that will pair well with both grilled seafood and meats with rich sauces.

Harvest & Winemaking:

The grapes were handpicked early September, following a typical summer of morning fog and afternoon sunshine. The grapes were hand-sorted, cold-soaked and fermented (16% whole cluster) in small open-top stainless steel vats prior to aging 11 months in French oak barrels.

2008 Three Plumes

Provenance:

2008 TR Elliott Three Plumes Pinot Noir is a cuvée of six barrels of wine, comprised of five barrels selected from our Hallberg Vineyard and one barrel selected from our O’Connell Vineyard. Both vineyards are located along the Vine Hill Ridge in the western reaches of the Russian River Valley.

Color:

The color is a very pretty red raspberry.

Aromatics:

The aroma opens with a stunning smell of Morello cherries and violets. Acacia and rose soon follow, with red raspberry and spices not far behind. With a little time in the glass, honey and dark fruit appear, as do subtle hints of oak and earth.

Palate:

The palate is fresh, youthful and feminine, with immediate tastes of raspberries, currants and red licorice. The mouth feel is silky with a very satisfying balance and firm structure. The wine finishes with notes of orange peel, holiday spices, and evolves into chocolate and cola.

Harvest & Winemaking:

The grapes were handpicked early September, following a typical summer of morning fog and afternoon sunshine. The grapes were hand sorted, cold-soaked and fermented (13% whole cluster) in small open-top stainless steel vats prior to aging ten months in French oak barrels.

2008 Burgonet

Provenance:

2008 TR Elliott Burgonet Pinot Noir is single vineyard selection of three barrels of wine from our O’Connell Vineyard.

Color:

The color is a deep garnet..

Aromatics:

The nose is a lovely exotic mix of red fruits, baking spices, root vegetables, vanilla and terroir.

Palate:

The entry onto the palate is intense. The body is layered with black currants, plums, walnuts and hints of mustiness. This Pinot is very expressive of the O’Connell Vineyard, which is dominated by exposed red clays and seabed pebbles from a bygone era. This wine will be long-lived and will benefit from cellaring. Beef Bourguignon is an example of a great food pairing.

Harvest & Winemaking:

The grapes were handpicked early September, following a typical summer of morning fog and afternoon sunshine. The grapes were hand-sorted, cold-soaked and fermented (14% whole cluster) in small open-top stainless steel vats prior to aging 11 months in French oak barrels.
