2012 Burgonet Pinot Noir

Provenance:

TR Elliott Burgonet Pinot Noir is a single vineyard selection of eight barrels from our O’Connell Vineyard. This two-acre vineyard sits atop a knoll of the Vine Hill Ridge in western Sonoma County. It is planted exclusively to the Pommard cultivar. The O’Connell Vineyard has a long, cool growing season and Gold Ridge sandy loam soils.

Color:

The color is deep garnet red.

Aromatics:

Dark fruit and berries with notes of cola and soft vanilla.

Palate:

Burgonet is complex yet soft with tastes of plums and dark cherries balanced with earthiness, vanilla, caramel and nutmeg. It exhibits smooth tannins and a very long finish. (Tasted January 24th, 2014)

Harvest & Winemaking:

The O’Connell Vineyard grapes were handpicked on September 17th with a yield of 3 tons per acre. The grapes were hand-sorted, cold-soaked and fermented (20% whole cluster, native yeast) in small open-top stainless steel vats prior to aging 11 months in French Oak barrels.

2012 Queste Pinot Noir

Provenance:

TR Elliott Queste Pinot Noir is a cuvée of 17 barrels of wine. We selected eight barrels of 115 clone from our Hallberg Vineyard and nine barrels of Pommard clone from our O’Connell Vineyard. A long, cool growing season and the Gold Ridge sandy loam soils are typical of both Vineyards, located in Sebastopol, California.

Color:

The color is deep garnet red.

Aromatics:

Spicy notes of white pepper mixed with berries and currants.

Palate:

Queste is a complex wine leading with mouth-filling raspberry and dark fruit. Hints of white pepper make way to more subtle baking spices, brown sugar and molasses. The finish is long and smooth. (Tasted January 24th, 2014)

Harvest & Winemaking:

We handpicked 4.8 tons from the O’Connell Vineyard on September 17th, then 5.4 tons from our Hallberg Vineyard on September 24th. The grapes were hand-sorted, cold-soaked and fermented (20% whole cluster, 100% native yeast) in small open-top stainless steel vats prior to aging 11 months in French Oak barrels (34% new).

A long, cool growing season and the Gold Ridge sandy loam soils are typical of both Vineyards, located in Sebastopol, California.

Color:

The color is a brilliant red.

Aromatics:

The nose leads with bright berries and develops to earth and spice.

Palate:

Elegant and dynamic, Three Plumes tastes of bright fruit with underlying spice. Raspberry and strawberry integrate with notes of clove and cinnamon. The finish is long and smooth. (Tasted January 24th, 2014)

Harvest & Winemaking:

2011 Three Roses Chardonnay

Provenance:

2011 TR Elliott Three Roses Chardonnay is a selection of seven barrels from our one-acre block of the Herrick Vineyard.

Color:

The color is bright straw with a tinge of yellow-gold.

Aromatics:

The nose displays the distinctive perfume aromas of clone 809. Floral and citrus notes, evolve to cinnamon, apple and peach.

Palate:

Three Roses tastes of spices and fresh citrus, with a background of vanilla and minerality. The mouth feel is rich and creamy, with a mélange of flavors integrating and lingering through a long finish.

Harvest & Winemaking:

The grapes were handpicked on October 1st, 2011 with yields of 3.7 tons per acre. The grapes were handsorted, gently pressed on their skins, barrel fermented, then aged sur lees for 11 months in French oak barrels.

Aromatics:

The nose opens with floral and almond notes, and leads to richer aromas of anise, spice, and pumpkin.

Palate:

Luscious in flavor, with intense fruit, Burgonet tastes of dark cherries, plum, pumpkin, completed with pepper and earth. This is a dramatic Pinot Noir with a long finish. (Tasted November 6th, 2012).

Harvest & Winemaking:

The O’Connell Vineyard grapes were handpicked on September 22rd with yields of 1.9 tons per acre. Thegrapes were hand-sorted, cold-soaked and fermented (18% whole cluster, native yeast) in small open-top stainless steel vats prior to aging 11 months in French Oak barrels (35% new).

Provenance:

2011 TR Elliott Queste Pinot Noir is a cuvée of 13 barrels of wine. We selected 8 barrels from our Hallberg Vineyard, a mix of clone 115 and Pommard, and another 5 barrels from our O’Connell Vineyard, planted exclusively with the Pommard clone. A long, cool growing season and the Gold Ridge sandy loam soils are typical of both Vineyards, located in Sebastopol, California.

Color:

The color is bright ruby red.

Aromatics:

A pretty nose leads with raspberry, cranberry, leather and earth. Floral notes of velvety rose open to underlying cherry, blueberry and cinnamon.

Palate:

The 2011 Queste offers a medium body, balanced acidity, and a mouth-watering finish. This elegant wine tastes of soft red berries and dark fruit, leading to cinnamon, vanilla and a touch of oak.

Harvest & Winemaking:

The O’Connell Vineyard grapes were handpicked on September 22nd and the Hallberg Vineyard on September 24th, with yields of 1.9 and 1.1 tons per acre respectively. The grapes were hand-sorted, cold-soaked and fermented (18% whole cluster, native yeast) in small open-top stainless steel vats prior to aging 11 months in French oak barrels (32% new).

2010 Burgonet Pinot Noir

Provenance:

2010 TR Elliott Burgonet Pinot Noir is a selection of nine barrels from our O’Connell Vineyard.

Color:

The color is a rich, dark plum.

Aromatics:

The nose is intense, filled with both earth floor and roasted game. Hints of currant, fennel and dark cherry add delicacy and brightness.

Palate:

Burgonet is evolving. Cherries, plums and orange peel weave into musk and root vegetables. Fresh and lively black pepper blend with cola. The finish is long and mouth-watering. 2010 Burgonet will evolve and integrate gracefully for many years.

Harvest & Winemaking:

The grapes were handpicked on September 25th with yields of 1.8 tons per acre. The grapes were hand-sorted, cold-soaked and fermented (20% whole cluster, native yeast) in small open-top stainless steel vats prior to aging 11 months in French oak barrels. A poor flower set in May and two days of extreme heat in June stressed the vines, and led to the intensity of the 2010 vintage.

2009 Queste Pinot Noir

Provenance:

2009 TR Elliott Queste Pinot Noir is a cuvée of 16 barrels of wine. We selected 12 barrels from our Hallberg Vineyard and another 4 from our O’Connell Vineyard. Dijon clones, a long, cool growing season and the Gold Ridge sandy loam soils are typical of both Vineyards.

Color:

The color is intense dark cherry.

Aromatics:

Opening with a lovely Queen Anne Cherry aroma, Queste then reveals a floral and spice layer, fading into red currant and cassis.

Palate:

The wine is an alluring, youthful yet lush wine with tastes of all-spice, orange peel, licorice leading to dark cherry, blueberry and cola. The finish is intense, sophisticated and lingering. The wine will age well through 2016. (Tasted February 2012)

Harvest & Winemaking:

Spring was cruel to the 2009 vintage with flowers struggling to blossom; however a consistent summer and fall assured a wonderful vintage. The grapes were handpicked on September 3rd and 10th, with yields of 2.1 tons per acre. The grapes were hand-sorted, cold-soaked and fermented (18% whole cluster, native yeast) in small open-top stainless steel vats prior to aging 11 months in French oak barrels (30% new).

2008 TR Elliott Queste Pinot Noir is a cuvée of 16 barrels of wine. We selected 11 barrels from our Hallberg Vineyard and another 5 from our O’Connell Vineyard. Dijon clones, a long, cool growing season and the Gold Ridge sandy loam soils are typical of both Vineyards.

Color:

The color is a rich and deep cherry red.

Aromatics:

The aroma begins with a potpourri of rose petal, cinnamon and pomegranate, followed by truffle and earthiness.

Palate:

The wine is soft and luscious, yet firm with well-integrated tannins. The feel of velvet surrounds tastes of raspberry and cherry fruit, hazelnut, plum and dark chocolate. This is a classic Russsian River Pinot Noir that will pair well with both grilled seafood and meats with rich sauces.

2007 Queste Pinot Noir

Provenance:

TR Elliott Queste Pinot Noir is a cuvée of 33 barrels of wine. We selected 21 barrels from our Hallberg Vineyard and another 12 from our O’Connell Vineyard. Dijon clones, a long, cool growing season and the Gold Ridge sandy loam soils are typical of both Vineyards.

Color:

The color is a dark brick red, with some purplish hues on the rim of the glass.

Aromatics:

The elegance of the 777 clone, the aromatics of the 115 clone, and the concentration of the Elite and Pommard clones are all evident. 2007 Queste opens with deep intensity, sweet black cherry, and layer upon layer of dark fruit, and finishes with leather, burnt sugar, vanilla and caramel.

Palate:

The wine has a broad and yummy mouth feel, and is big without being overbearing. This is a great aging wine with soft chocolate tannins, texture, dark cherry and mushroom flavors with forest floor terroir. The 2007 Queste is a classic.

2008 TR Elliott Three Plumes Pinot Noir is a cuvée of six barrels of wine, comprised of five barrels selected from our Hallberg Vineyard and one barrel selected from our O’Connell Vineyard. Both vineyards are located along the Vine Hill Ridge in the western reaches of the Russian River Valley.

Color:

The color is a very pretty red raspberry.

Aromatics:

The aroma opens with a stunning smell of Morello cherries and violets. Acacia and rose soon follow, with red raspberry and spices not far behind. With a little time in the glass, honey and dark fruit appear, as do subtle hints of oak and earth.

Palate:

The palate is fresh, youthful and feminine, with immediate tastes of raspberries, currants and red licorice. The mouth feel is silky with a very satisfying balance and firm structure. The wine finishes with notes of orange peel, holiday spices, and evolves into chocolate and cola.

The color is a very pretty cherry red.

Aromatics:

The aroma is intense and deep. There are immediate red currant, violet and raspberry notes, blended with fig,
vanilla and pepper. Hints of nutmeg, orange peel and allspice recede to black cherry and cola.

Palate:

The palate is bright and clean, with tastes of cherries, holiday spices, sweet vanilla and pepper. Three Plumes
is an elegant wine with a silky and delicate texture, a medium body and a nice balance between tartness and
richness. It finishes with layers of fruit and terroir.

The color is a natural dark brick, with some ruby.

Aromatics:

The nose is involving, with varied notes of candied red cherries, cinnamon, clove and almonds, a very earthy
wine.

Palate:

Burgonet is a complex wine, ever evolving. It is silky in texture with pretty raspberry and cherry cream flavors. Yet, dark fruits and firm tannins weave through the mid palate, finishing with a tobacco, bacon and forest floor. This is a beautiful example of a single-vineyard, single clone Pinot. Burgonet is a classy wine for drinking now through 2016.

Color:

The color is a deep garnet..

Aromatics:

The nose is a lovely exotic mix of red fruits, baking spices, root vegetables, vanilla and terroir.

Palate:

The entry onto the palate is intense. The body is layered with black currants, plums, walnuts and hints of mustiness. This Pinot is very expressive of the O’Connell Vineyard, which is dominated by exposed red clays and seabed pebbles from a bygone era. This wine will be long-lived and will benefit from cellaring. Beef Bourguignon is an example of a great food pairing.

Aromatics:

The aromatics are intense, yet pleasurable; rich and spicy, filled with bright red fruits.

Palate:

The concentration of the Pommard clone is evident in Burgonet. The taste opens with cinnamon, coriander and cardamom, followed by red cherry and vanilla. The long finish hints of game and forest floor. Burgonet is rich with a soft and elegant structure. This is an opulent and wonderful wine that will delight the palate for many years.

TR Elliott Quest TR Elliott Queste Pinot Noir is a cuvée of 22 barrels of wine. We selected 15 barrels from our Hallberg Vineyard wine and another 7 from our O’Connell Vineyard wine and blended them together to make the 2006 Queste.

Color:

The color is a bright plum with some purplish hues on the rim of the glass.

Aromatics:

Aromas of cherries and dark rose are overlain with blackberry and figs. This is followed by the interplay of a seductive vanilla and sandalwood, white with blackberry and figs. Color:

The color is a very pretty translucent cherry red.

Aromatics:

The aroma opens with vanilla, holiday spices, ripe strawberry and other juicy bright red fruit, and is permeated with delicate floral notes. Hints of leather and terroir abound.

Palate:

This wine tastes of red berries and cinnamon. It has nice acidity, a medium weight and texture, and a refreshing finish with a hint of coffee and spice. The character is the delicate balance between terroir and fruit, between softness and firm tannins.

Color:

The color is like a dark red jewel with clarity and depth.

Aromatics:

Blackberry, blueberry and dark cherry fruits mixed with enticing candied aromas
lead to hints of cinnamon and violets. Always there is leather and must in the background.

Palate:

The red cherry and dark plum tastes linger as an earthy mushroom-filled sense of terroir leads to thyme-like spices. Aromatics:

Fresh spiced peach and raspberries, plus vanilla and cola are blended with aromas of creamy black cherry pie.

Palate:

Black cherry and vanilla flavors integrate into the soft tannin structure while smooth cola texture leads to a lingering finish of plum and almond.

2005 Three Plumes Pinot Noir

Provenance:

TR Elliott Three Plumes Pinot Noir is a cuvée of 9 barrels of wine, comprised of 6 barrels from our Vine Hill Vineyard wine and another 3 barrels selected from our Hallberg Vineyard wine.

Color:

The color is a beautiful red with attractive raspberry and ruby hues.

Aromatics:

The aroma evolves from rose petals and peppermint to black berry and plums, then moves to licorice and finishes with hints of mushroom earth tones.

Palate:

This wine’s taste opens with a combination of licorice and raspberry flavors, followed by blueberry and a hint of cedar. The mid palate reveals soft integrated tannins plus sweet vanilla and light cola. The finish is clean with refreshing acidity and a lingering taste of black cherry.
